Why do I need to register?
Registering allows you to write message and to subscribe topics. Other users can sent you messages.

How do I write a message?
Just enter the text you want to write. If you do not respond to another message you have to use at least a topic/channel in your text.

How do I use a topic in a message?
To use a topic just use the hash mark followed by the topic name (e.g. #topic). If somebody looks at the topic he will see you message if you used the topic.

How can I use a link in a message?
To link to a web page just enter the link. Be sure the links start with http:// (e.g. http://www.solacize.com). Everything from http:// till a next whitespace will be used as the link.

How can I mention a user in a message?
To reference to a user use the at-symbol followed by the username (e.g. @solacize).

What is the creator of a topic?
The user that uses a topic for the first time is the creator of that topic. At the moment this allows him to change the topic description and the honor to be listed as the creator. Perhaps in later versions of solacize there will be more features for creators.

Why should I subscribe a topic?
You can subscribe to any topic. Instead of following users or something like that solacize is about following topic. You subscribe to them to get easily access to the messages from any topic you are interested in. The message from your subscribed topic will be shown on the home page (if you are logged in). You can unsubscribe the topic again whenever you want.

What are channel?
Topic are public. Channels are a kind of private topics that belong to a user. Only invited users can subscribe the channel, view messages of the channel und post message to the channel.

How can I create a channel?
You can create and use a channel by entering #channelname@username in a message. A message can use more than one channel. If a message belongs to a channel it can only by seen by users in one of the used channel. If the username is your username, then you are the creator of the channel. That means this is your private channel and you can invite users to take part in that channel (and you can kick them out).

I was invited to a channel, what can I do?
If you have an invitation to a channel, you can enter that channel by following the invitation link and subscribe the channel. You can unsubscribe it again whenever you want.

How can I change the description of a topic/channel?
Only the creator can change the description. To change it use #channelname: or #topicname@username: at the beginning of a message. The rest of the message will be used as the new description.

Why can't I subscribe/unsubscribe the topic solacize?
This is a special restricted system topic from solacize.com. We use it to inform all users about changes/updates/important information. This topic is automatically subscribed to any user. You cannot unsubscribe it.

Why are my message with topic solacize not shown in the topic?
You can link the topic solacize in your messages, but they will not be shown in the topic. This topic is restricted for system messages from administrators.
